Our History

The South Texas Catholic is the official newspaper for the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Since its inception in 1966, the diocesan newspaper has been a source of information, evangelization, unity and inspiration for the Catholic community of the area.

The South Texas Catholic is published twice a month and has a circulation of over 45,000 mailed directly to homes of our readers.

The Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada has repeatedly recognized the South Texas Catholic annually for its design and/or articles. The newspaper primarily focuses on the good works of the people, parishes and missions in South Texas.

The South Texas Catholic, which runs 20 to 24 pages, covers news on the local, state, national and international levels. The paper also features local columnists, inspirational stories and a Spanish-language section in each issue.
