The Corpus Christi (Alice Milloy) International Seamen Center celebrated the retirement of Mrs. Alice Milloy, last December 11.

Alice began working at the Seamen Center on December 14, 1974. She has been the director of the center since then as a result of her involvement with the National Council of Catholic Women.

The Seamen Center was packed with well-wishers, friends, staff and family members, who said their goodbyes to well-loved center's director, Alice Milloy.

Sharon Emerson, President of the Board of Directors, said, "Alice is the most lovely person. Alice had a very unique style and approach to support the international seafarers as well as friends of the center."

Viola Kumaritakis, Administrative Assistant and Secretary of the center, said, "She loves people and she cares for the seafarers. I will miss her. We will all miss her."

Alice has been working so hard for the center in order that seafarers from around the world have a homelike, pleasant and welcoming place to go while their ships are docked. She said, "We treat international seafarers as we would visitors in our own homes."

Alice emotionally expressed, "I'm touched by this celebration and I would like to thank everybody for making this day such a special occasion." She also thanked her children, grandchildren and friends of the Alice Milloy International Seamen Center for all their support.
