Many scouts from BSA Troop 162 from St. Patrick Church and BSA Troop 318 from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, along with scout leaders, parents and administrators contributed over 400 hours to develop this project over a 6 month period. Materials and plants as well as other improvements were in excess of $1,000. All this was generated by a rummage sale by Clay Thompson as well as from individual donations, Gills Nursery and Ferrell Brown Architects who served as advisors on the project.
Clay Thompson and Senior Patrol Leader Andres Castillo of Troop 162 presented a special plaque from the Troop to Bishop Carmody with excerpts of the St. Patrick’s Prayer donated by the Troop parents to be placed in the Garden. A reception was held immediately following.
