Director, Sherry Davis and high school students from John Paul II were able to recreate an imaginary world of Dr. Seuss characters in the enchanting play, Seussical Musical.
The play, Seussical Musical, was performed on October 21, 22, 24 and 25 in the High School Cafetorium of John Paul II. The students rehearsed in between classes, sports, and extracurricular activities.
The actors fit the characters to a tea, especially, the Cat in the Hat portrayed by James Hernandez. Hernandez moved and danced like a cat. His makeup and costume completed the look of his spectacular performance.
Many of the students had wonderful voices: Sour Kangaroo played by Becky Ortiz, Horton the Elephant played by Ryan Garza, and the General portrayed by Clay Thompson were just a few of the many musical surprises.
The play was lively and fun and transported the audience to the imaginary world of playful whimsy characterized by Dr. Seuss stories.
