The chorus of “take me out to the ballpark” and the cracking of bats on a warm summer night greeted Catholic youth at Whataburger Field on Aug. 8.
 
The Office of Youth Ministry of the Diocese of Corpus Christi invited parish youth group and ministries to a night out with the Corpus Christi Hooks. Youth groups from a number of parishes cheered for the local minor league baseball team against the Arkansas Travelers.
 
While the Hooks came up short on a 10-4 loss to the Travelers, the youth and their parents enjoyed the night at the ballpark.
 
The "Catholic Diocese Night" at Whataburger Field has become an annual event.
